The IDFA Bertha Fund has supported six new documentary projects with €40,000 each through the IBF Europe – International Co-Production funding scheme, and one new project with €50,000 through the NFF + IBF Co-production scheme. The two programs aim to boost collaboration between independent European producers and producers in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and parts of Eastern Europe.

IBF Europe selection: female directors and low-production countries take center stage
This year, the Fund saw a marked increase in applications to the IBF Europe category, building on the steady momentum of applicants seen in recent years. The Fund is also happy to see a sizeable number of submitted projects from smaller production countries such as Poland, Latvia, and Ireland. Selected projects from these regions include the Lithuanian-Ukrainian co-production The Earth is Blue as an Orange, directed by Iryna Tsilyk.
